Here is a list of my current projects, the big ideas behind them, and a little it about the costs that went into them (It seems everyone always wants to know about the cost).
It's my hope that giving you as much information as possible about what goes into these projects will give you a clear understanding of your own project and it's potential.
Every job is different, just like every room, and every persons tastes. Maybe some of these projects can also serve to inspire you, and help you realize your own preferences and tastes.

Isn't it Romantic?
My client wanted a romantic bathroom that would sweep her away. The recipe for romance was part whimsy, part vintage detailing and part drama.
Stir ingredients and Voila.
Come get swept up

Form and Function
My client had two bathrooms that were original to the home. They were worn out and the layout was not functional at all.
My challenge was to update the baths, improve their function and add some style.
Mission accomplished!

Modern Meditation
My clients had a bathroom so ugly that they would not use the shower, so Modern Nest came to the rescue and gave this tired beat up bathroom a face lift. The vanity and the storage cabinet are the same shape, the only difference is their orientation. This allows them ample storage and because it is floating is does not feel heavy in the space..

Elegance in Encino
My clients had two existing bathrooms. One was off the master and pretty small, the other was in the hall and huge. Both were in bad shape and needed to be updated. I reconfigured the walls to make the master more luxurious and the hall bath appropriate for guests. - Like with most couples, separate baths make happy marriages. The master is more luxurious and has a feminine touch to it and the hall bath is like a gentleman's spa.

Comfort in Culver City
My clients are a young family that had just done considerable construction on their home. My job was to make it look great but not too precious. We used a lot of warm neutrals with punches of rose and burgundy. The room was open to the dining room which makes the rooms appear larger. The brown suede paint we used on the threshold to the dining room helps define the different spaces.

The Santa Monica Sanctuary
This client lives in a condo conversion in Santa Monica. In addition to completely redoing her kitchen, we freshened up her living room, master bedroom and guest bathroom. My challenge was to work around an extremely oversized leather chair that the client loved. I thought it was a nice enough chair but the scale was very large for a modest sized room. .

The Kitchen that Cooks!
This is the same Client as the project above, the condo conversion in Santa Monica. The challenge was to take a generic galley kitchen and give it some interest. I did this by taking down the wall that separated the living room and kitchen. It lets more light into the space and lets the cook interact with guests seated in the living room.

The Eclectic Bath Suite
My clients had a blah master suite in their hip 60's pad in Los Feliz but they are anything but blah. They're a fun vibrant eccentric family that had collections of trivets and 70's lunch boxes.
My challenge was to update the master bedroom and bathroom as well as create a half bath on the same level so guests would have a dedicated bathroom
Ohh La La, what a result!

The Industrial Spanish Kitchen
Taking this generic kitchen and giving it some umph without changing the cabinets was an industrial-sized challenge. We did this by opening up one wall to give the kitchen an open airy feeling.
We resurfaced the existing cabinets and added a new backsplash. The result was Mui Bueno!.

The Van Noord Kitchen
Turning a claustropobic pine kitchen into something modern is no simple task, but nothing worth doing ever is, really.
Check out the images from this renovation, I'm certain there's something in this project for everyone to appreciate.

The Maltman Residence
The Maltman residence had a drab living room that needed punching up. I updated the fireplace to make it a focal point for the room.
Though home was built in the 30's, (and the client wanted to respect that) I wanted to bring a little more up-to-date.

The Rasky Project
My own home was a project from another world.
I saw this beautiful mid-century modern home in the Mount Washington area of Los Angeles, and although it was in horrible disrepair, it was love at first site.
I wanted to feel like I was living in Palm Springs, and after a lot of work, and some tender, loving care- I turned it into my own private Oasis.
See what love and a little elbow grease can get you-
